2023 Waitlist Update #2

We would like to provide a comprehensive update regarding the waitlist activity at Emory University for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 enrollment. As of May 8, we were pleased to report that the enrolling class at Emory College and Oxford College not only met our expected enrollment targets but slightly exceeded them. However, we did anticipate some changes in the enrollment statuses of students in the coming months. Initially, we had anticipated enrolling approximately 50-70 students from the waitlist to Emory College (the Atlanta campus).

In the first round of waitlist activity, Emory College successfully enrolled around 70 students. As of May 30, the overall class enrollment has met our expectations thus far. Oxford College has not had any waitlist activity and does not anticipate utilizing the waitlist for the fall or spring semesters.

Nonetheless, we recognize that there may still be cases of summer melt, students deciding to pursue gap years, or other reasons that may result in a limited number of enrolled students not joining in late August 2023. Therefore, the waitlist remains active, and there is a possibility of engaging it at a later date.

Throughout the waitlist process, we contact students via email if a spot becomes available for them in the Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 semesters (Oxford College only). We strongly advise students to diligently check their email inbox and promptly respond to any communication received from the Office of Undergraduate Admission. While the initial round of waitlist activity has taken place, we will continue to assess the enrollment status of the class and may consider additional waitlist activity if necessary. Emory University understands the eagerness and anticipation of students awaiting updates on their admission status and sincerely appreciates their patience during this process.

In the event that students no longer wish to be considered for Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 enrollment (Oxford College only), they have the option to remove themselves from the waitlist at any time through their applicant portals. We encourage students to take this step if they are no longer interested in enrolling. For further information, students may refer to the Waitlist FAQs available in their applicant portals. As we conclude, we extend our warmest wishes to everyone as they prepare for the exciting celebrations that lie ahead in the coming weeks. We hope that all students achieve great success in their academic pursuits and savor the unforgettable moments that accompany this special time.
