The Oxford Way: Better Together
Oxford College is for change-makers, visionaries, and those who are driven by curiosity. Our students are high-achieving, passionate, and exceptional leaders. But instead of competing for titles and opportunities, our students know that the best way forward is together. Groundbreaking research doesn’t happen in a silo. Impactful service projects aren’t accomplished by one person. And transformative art shines brightest when shared.
That’s why at Oxford College, community isn’t just a concept—it’s a way of life. From the moment students step onto campus, they become part of a close-knit environment where connections are made, passions are explored, and lifelong bonds are formed.
A Campus That Feels Like Home
Oxford’s campus is more than a place to study—it’s a place where students find a sense of belonging. 99% of Oxford’s 1,000 students live on campus, which means that you’ll know just about everyone by the end of your first year. You’ll share classes with fellow hallmates, run into friends at the dining hall, and spend countless hours on the quad (aka Oxford’s “living room”) with new and old friends alike. The community is so close that every Valentine’s Day the quad is decorated with a personalized paper heart valentine for every single student. Ask anyone in the Oxford community and they will share that Oxford is truly their second home.
A Club for Every Interest
At Oxford, there’s something for everyone. With more than 80 student organizations, clubs, and leadership opportunities, students can dive into their passions or discover new ones. Whether it’s joining student government, advocating for social justice initiatives, performing in a K-pop dance group, or volunteering in the local community, Oxford students take every opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun. Clubs are an integral part of Oxford’s collaborative culture, and are the number one way students share their passions, cultures, and ideas with each other.
Your dream club doesn’t exist yet? Start it! At Oxford, we encourage students to make their dreams a reality, starting today. It’s easy to take risks when all of Oxford is rooting for you.
Professors Who Invest in You
Oxford professors aren’t just educators—they’re mentors who care deeply about their students’ success. With an average class size of 20 students, professors have the time and space to get to know their students on a personal level. They foster a learning environment where questions are encouraged, discussions thrive, and intellectual curiosity is celebrated.
From office hours that feel like friendly conversations to research opportunities that allow students to explore their interests, Oxford faculty invest in their students’ growth both in and out of the classroom. They guide students to think critically, communicate effectively, and approach challenges with confidence—skills that serve them well beyond Oxford.
Lifelong Friends
The bonds formed at Oxford don’t end after two years—they last a lifetime. Living, learning, and leading together fosters deep connections that go beyond the classroom. Competing in the Oxford Olympics, having class cancelled by Dooley, and late-night trips to Waffle House create friendships that stand the test of time.
The friends you make at Oxford follow you to the Atlanta campus, providing you with a built-in community for your last two years at Emory. These friendships often last a lifetime, which you can see each year at graduation when alumni return to Oxford for their 50th reunion and celebrate truly lifelong friendships.
